Suppport/update options after we've got your "stuff" out there -
As
is often the case, sometime later someone I have done work for will want
something tweaked, changed, removed, or added. This is not a problem at
all, and in fact the norm. My normal rates would apply, and I only count
the time I am actually working. In this case, often the time spent to do
a small update rarely exceeds an hour, so in these situations I split the
rates to 1/2 (one half) hour increments. Since the initial layout and planning
has long since been completed update or changes are much easier.
.
Considering
I have no control over the web itself, ISPs, or hosting companies I am
not able to help in situations when things seem to be down or unreachable.
Problems such as routes down, ISP outages, hosting site or server outages
are beyond my ability to help with. In come cases with hosting companies
where server rules have changed and crippled your site I can make contact
with them to resolve the problem. This however is unforseeable and would
count as time spent.
.
I
am not one to act as if what I do is magic or reserved for geeks. If at
some point in time you are interested in maintaining your own page or site
I am all for this. I will do my best to show you how I did the work for
you and what tools I used. Be forewarned, if you break it I will not fix
it for free. Nearly all of the tools I use are freeware, open source, or
otherwise freely available. I ask for my normal rate for the time spent
doing this as this is only fair. On the other hand, I cannot guarantee
the tools and utilities I use will be compatible on your system. In an
era when just the operating system alone can be over two gigabytes and
contain tens of thousands of files it is impossible to tell. I will make
it clear that I do not want to teach manual coding which is something I
do to some extent on nearly every project. It is unavoidable. |
