Script installation (PHP, CGI, etc.) -
Every
so often someone will want something installed on their site that is interactive
which usually involved some kind of script package such as a forum or photo
gallery for example. I have a good bit of experience with this as some
of the sites I maintain employ forms and other scripting. Sometimes this
can be a daunting task for newbies, and requires a little knowledge about
how a webserver works and how databases work.

I
can install scripts such as this for you but this requires a little more
trust on your part than simply allowing me to use your FTP account to upload
your pages and content. Most of the time this is only done for people who
have a hosting package that supports scriptings. The home directory that
usually comes free with an ISP account almost always blocks any kind of
scripting such as PHP and CGI (Perl). In order to install these scripts
access to the hosting package's control panel is needed to set up databases
which most scripts need to work.

If
you choose to have me do this but are uneasy about giving me temporary
access to the hosting control panel I can sit you in front of my computer,
allow you to log in, and let me take over to set things up. Natually this
option would require you are in my local area. My normal rates apply to
script installation. I will not deal with ASP, Coldfusion, or Javascript
Serverlets. Only PHP or CGI. I can place Javascript applets in a project
we have previously worked on though. |
