Web Design Portfolio of Selected Sites -
Aside
from what you find here at TheRathole.org, the following is some of the
work I have done that actually made it on the web. All the links that are
not pertinent or appropriate for the "portfolio" in the individual site
samples have been disabled and now appear as simple text. Any mail addreses,
names, and phone numbers are now generic, and any contact forms using mail
addresses if used will simply generate delivery errors (the message will
go nowhere and you will receive delivery failure e-mails). NOTE: To preserve
the format of the original pages there are no links in the sample sites
to bring you back here so each site in it's OWN NEW window. Keep this in
mind so you don't end up with windows everywhere! ;-)
.
These
sites either no longer exist or are now under new management but the original
site design and layout is here. Although per my agreement with the original
site owners all copyright was turned over to the respective site owners
I reserved the right to include them in any future portfolio as I was the
original author of the site and content.
.
DRKGuitars
was one of the first "commercial" sites I did for a good friend. It has
since been renovated by new management and covers the Falcon guitar line.
It is rather crude but was more than could be afforded any other way at
the time.
.
CPT
Productions is the second "commercial" site I created and maintained
until the company experienced a financial setback. I was quite understanding
and froze payment until they could recover (I didn't want to take food
out of the owner's family's mouths). It's been almost a year since, but
payment for the last batch of work done wich inlcludes the Rock
Till You Drop Tour website still remains in arrears. The CPT site is
now maintained by the company owner and not quite what it used to be so
I can't lay claim to it's current state. I wouldn't say I'm angry, but
more disappointed since the company is back in the black yet no green as
of yet here. I guess that's the nature of big business in the land of opportunity.
This is one of the biggest reasons I work on referral only now. I also
maintained the Battle
of the Bands pages during the entire competition for CPT. As a favor
I created the simple pages of the First
and Second
benefit using the theme/graphics of the flyers for the ownner's brother
whom I refer to as "Jim Doe" (who is darn good people and a darn good guitar
player to boot).
.
ABAOnline
was in response to the rediculous quibbling all the damn yuppies in this
area engaged in over services provided for Autistic children. I was enraged
over how so much energy was being spent on lawsuits and fighting that could
have been constructively channeled towards the very children they were
fighting about. The site existed for only a month and was never completed
as I could not get help from a single individual directly affected (I was
not directly affected, only a spectator yet willing to do everything for
free). Sadly, they could find plenty of time to consult with lawyers and
post malicious messages on vicious e-mail lists but no time to help with
the site in even the smallest way. The "Beautiful Politically Correct Socailly
Affluent People" never cease to amaze (and dissappoint) me. Makes me glad
I'm a simple man.
.
Few&FarBetween
is another band which I met through Reigning Heir, and yet another batch
of cool folks. I can say one thing, I do like doing work for hardworking
gigging local bands. They have since re-organized and re-emerged as Ockum's
Razor, which is now another site I created and maintained.
.
MetalShark
Productions was a new band promotion company getting off the ground
here in Saint Loius who was dedicated to original bands and artists and
determined to improve the original music scene here and abroad. Original
music in this area desperately needed the shot in the arm, MetalShark had
my vote. The company has since gone into "hibernation" but the gears are
still turning and likely will return.
.
Ockum's
Razor is the re-formed band formerly known as Few&FarBetween.
The layout and idea for the theme was theirs, and I think it turned out
pretty slick and unique. All I had to do was create what they envisioned
in HTML and graphics. They have now taken over maintance of the site and
the original format is now relegated to my portfolio only. It has become
apparent that both the band as well as the original site have been abandoned
and the only copy existsts here.
.
BeforeTheApplecart.not
was supposed to be the personal business site for a member of a national
Avon/Tupperware style MLM cookware company (which I will not mention by
name). The names have understandably been replaced with generics. Halfway
into the project I received a short, terse note asking how much time I
had put into it and what I was owed. No explanation, no reasoning, just
a blunt "lemme pay you something and just go away". Hmmm. I will never
understand yuppies. I suspect it is because I kept prodding for content
since without it all I could create was just a skeleton. Everything there
I had to glean or BS myself. Oh well. That solidified my "no commercial
work" policy.
.
Reigning
Heir I met through CPT (one of the few good things that came out of
my work for CPT anyway) and I have become close friends with the members
of the band. Good folks who love to rock and practically live for music.
.
JohnnyOrlando.org
is a site I maintain for some very good longtime friends of my Wife and
I. John is a kick-ass kid and deserves every break he can get considering
all he and his family have had to endure. His parents are good down-home
hardworking folk, easily worth thier weight in gold. I am sure there are
many, but I know very few parents as loving and dedicated as they are.
.
These
sites are ones I currently or upon occasion maintian and the links take
you to the actual site itself.
.
Crazy
Krackers is the newest band on the block. They were interested in a
simple but effective layout with a few goodies here and there. Deadman,
the group's spearhead of sorts, is the cousin of Ockum's Razor's guitar
player, Viner.
.
JonEStuntzCo
is the personal site of Jon E. who is part of a group of locals that are
heavily into stunting on just about anything that rolls (hence Jon E Stuntz
& Co for the name). The group aside from Jon includes Casey, CJ, Andy,
and Choppper.
.
The
Guitar Gallery - The Guitars of Matsumoku is the most long lived project
of mine and actually began life as part of my home page space. Over the
years it has grown considerably and has become one of the net's largest
Japanese guitar information repositories. It has undergone several major
re-builds, and yet another is currently in progress. There are literally
thousands of images and over 400 pages to the site now.
.
Lowridersbysummers
is the business site of Tommy Summers, one of the premier bike painters
and builders who has championed the Honda CB750 over the years. When I
took over his site I tried to maintain the original style and look of the
site so updates and additions would be fairly transparent. |
