Who I am willing to do work for (and who I'm not) -
In
this age of huge corporations, conglomerates, and monopolies the focus
has shifted from quality of workmanship, value for the dollar, and customer
satisfaction (all of them, not just select customers) to the quest for
the allmighty dollar. I have become both annoyed and angered over this
and truly miss the days of the craftsman now replaced by the age of the
businessman. I have been stiffed by more commercial projects and enterprises
and so will no longer take on these kinds of projects. I do not do work
on "for profit" projects any more, but make exceptions in very rare cases.
On rare occasoins I have done work for municipalities but the rates I ask
for in these cases are more expensive due to the increased work involved.
.
Who
I prefer to work with is the average person who would otherwise forego
a personal home page or small site due to the cost involved or lack of
training to do so. I much prefer to work with folks in my local area but
will make exceptions. Although I do not have any examples any more, I have
done quite a few small single pages for folks who wanted something simple
without having to take classes or use a bloated web page editor only to
give up out of frustration and abandon the idea. Whatever your ideas are,
it doesn't hurt or cost anything to inquire, and I will respond as quickly
as possible.
.
I
have also done a number of band sites for struggling bands. I am more than
willing to work with local bands wanting a site to post their schedule,
news, photos, music samples, and bios. I will ask that I am paid BEFORE
the site goes live. Of the band sites I have done, almost half are in arrears
yet today and will likely remain that way. On rare occasion I have done
charity work, but this does not include churches or religious organizations. |
