Originally
equipped with a stop tailpiece identical to the PE-R80, a previous owner
installed a genuine Bigsby but had the presence of mind to install one
that would not require additional holes on the face of the guitar. The
two forward screws mount in wooden dowels set in the original stop tailpiece
anchors. The only additional holes drilled are on the butt of the guitar
surrounding the strap button where they won't easily be seen if returned
to stop tailpiece. The heel isn't quite as contoured as the PE-R80 but
it's every bit a sweetheart. The pickups were the original MMK 45s which
I replaced with a pair of OBLs. It plays like a dream and has sustain for
days. It's in fantastic shape for a 17 year old!
.
One
funny thing about this particular guitar an it's images is a Russian site
pretty much ripped shots of it as well as a bunch of others from the Guiatar
Gallery and is in error presenting it as a stock guitar in THEIR verion
of Aria Pro II history. This guitar is far from stock.
