Aria CS-400
I guess
the best way to describe this guy is the feel of an 80s Gibson Les Paul
yet the upper register access of an SG. The overall condition is very good
but see the blurb on the "boo-boos" below. The top is arched like an LP
(see pics) which gives it more mass and better sustain and reminds me a
lot of the Studio LP series. It is set up with 10s and the intonation is
set accordingly. The action is good and it plays like an LP. The frets
were grooved when I got it so crowning and dressing were in order. With
all the Korean and even some of the American and Japanese guitars sold
today with barbed-wire frets I can practically crown and dress a fingerboard
with my eyes closed! The pickups squealed like a thousand horny pigs so
I triple-dipped them and the piggies are gone! You can practically stand
on top of the amp with it now! The guitar is capable of a wide range of
tones and the pickups have a warm vintage sound. The neck pickup is particularly
deep and sweet when played clean! It would make a great Blues machine.
The
specs: 3-piece maple set neck with 22 fret rosewood fingerboard with jumbo
frets, brass nut (factory), carved top, massive bridge with thru-body or
optional thru-bridge stringing, Grover sealed tuners (not original), 2
tone controls, 2 volume controls, MMK 45 (original) pickups, coil cut switch
and pickup phase switch. |
