Epiphone Crestwood Circa 1973-74

Yet another Arai made guitar. I got this in trade for a Crestline 335 copy I picked up on ebay that never really warmed up to me. I took the Crestline into a local shop I used to frequent and the owner couldn't live without it so we did an even exchange. It was missing one knob, had one tele barrel knob, and two gold cap top hats. I guess the pickups had never been potted because any attempt to put some heat to it (distortion) released a thousand squealing pigs from the amp! Microphonic squeal is detrimental to healthy hearing!  =]

I naturally potted the pickups, re-crowned the frets, did a couple of spot levels, went over the wiring, cleaned the pots, filled stripped screw holes, and did the normal neck treatment/adjustment. The into is dead on and I can really turn the heat up now before the pickups begin to whine. The access to the upper registers is a real treat on this player. Not exactly a '64 but in my opinion it plays as well.
