The Millers' Gang

Callee
A 10+ yr old stray cat
who lived under parked cars in the neighborhood. I fed her every night
for about 6 months. I noticed she had great difficulty eating and one cold
January night this past year, I had had enough and finally brought her
inside. We cleaned her up and found she had an advanced case of Plasmacytic
Stomatitis. (Major mouth/teeth disease), due to previous owner neglect.
Anyway, after 6 months of treatment, it was determined she needed to have
all her teeth pulled in order to survive. The surgery was done in
June and we now have a crazy, fat, sassy cat who owns the household.

Samster
Sam (Samster The Hamster)
was our beautiful little miracle boy. We stumbled upon him for sale at
a local swap-meet here in San Diego. A trip to the vet revealed he had
been born with Mega-Esophagus, had polyps growing through both eardrums,
and had mild seizures from time to time. Surgery repaired his ears resulting
in some hearing impairment. We provided medication for the seizures, and
we learned how to help him cope with the Mega-Esophagus. He took it all
in stride and never complained about anything. I taught him hand signals
to make up for the hearing loss. Sam learned it all in less than a month.
He thought it was just another fun game to play. We made it possible for
him to live a nearly normal, happy, and fun-filled life for the better
part of four years. He was truly an extraordinary little fellow.
Sam developed a tumor
on his kidneys and fought it to the end. He passed away peacefully on Friday
morning December 20, 2002 at 9:30am. We loved him dearly and we will cherish
our memories of him forever.

Farley
This fellow was found
by the Mid-Florida Rescue Society abandoned and wandering the streets of
Melbourne Florida at Christmas time 1994. We lucked out when he agreed
to join our household and cheer up our distressed Irish Wolfhound/Old English
Sheepdog mix (Winnie), who was heartbroken over the recent loss of her
best friend Megan (the best Husky ever) due to facial cancer.

Winnie
She came to us one bright
Saturday morning via a trip to the Lancaster, Ca pound back in 1990. Just
a puppy, she grew to become a big, beautiful Irish Wolfhound/Old English
Sheepdog mix with the kindest, gentlest personality. She ruled the house
for 12 years.
Unfortunately, she passed
away earlier this year and we'll miss her forever.
