Skitters
Aliases include: Ski'ers (pronounced
same as Skitters but without the "T"), Ski'er-Kitty
| The
third of the felines is Skitters (derived from skittish little critter).
She was feral and raising two kittens in a neighbors old shed. It appeared
she had been living on squirrel and bird for some time. We found one of
the two kittens in a bucket of tools and the other in a rusted out bbq
pit. It took 4 days to win her over, and after that she let me watch her
babies while she ate the food I would bring her. Eventually we found a
home for both her kittens (the same home, even better) and when we moved,
she moved with us. This little girl lives up to her name as she is as nervous
and flighty as a little bird, but any more she will curl up with me to
watch TV. At first she and Watcher did not get along at all (with Watcher
as the antagonist most often). Now they tolerate each other and only occasionally
aggravate each other with Skitters usually on the retaliatory end of the
skirmishes (and does she ever get even!). |
