| This
is the "You just woke me up from a nap, but I love you anyway" look. Colby
is the newest addition to the pack, and by far the youngest (about 9 months
when we got her). We picked her up at the Dardenne Animal Shelter next
to our vet. We're thinking she's part pit bull but we have no intention
of making a junk yard dog out of her. She is a good burglar alarm, and
since Angus is near deaf, she's taken on the responsibility. Watcher is
having trouble warming up to her, but the rest of the group has adopted
her into the clan. All is well save for Watcher's occasional hiss-explosions
(the kind that send you flying out of a dead sleep). It's amazing how much
noise can come out such of a small grey animal when it explodes! Poor Colby
seeks me out with her tail between her legs as if to apologize for "popping"
the cat again. She's still got some puppy in her and can get obnoxious
at times, but she's also bright and learns quick. Now beaver knows what
it was like when he would aggrivate "The Old Man" (Angus) or mellow Do-Do
(Lady). She's gentle but not very coordinated, and she has to crash and
burn at least once a day. |
