eBay ripoffs:
These were a set that I picked up on eBay but once received were hardly as described, and if you look at the bowls you can just imagine what they stunk like. I am not one to suffer the smell of decayed gasoline, and it is one of the worst smells I can think of next to decomp. Determined not to lose on these I chose to detail them and put them back on eBay. A fellow in FL who has a gorgeous souped up CB750F got them.

"Spoom's" trike carbs:
A freind won a trike on eBay that had sat in the weather quite a few years, and at fist glance did not look that bad. Once opened up it was painfully obvious the previous owner did not drain the bowls, and to boot water had made it's way into a couple and the aluminum castings had corroded away in places to nothing but dust. Two of the four brass floats were shot as well. Fortunately he had sent another set to be detailed as well and we ended up combining the two racks to make one good one using the all the chrome goodies from the trike's set and the good castings and such from the spare set. There was a lot of rust coming through the chrome on the steel parts but fortunately it had not done too much damage and the rust was removed with a little coaxing. The final set turnde out extremely nice.

"Streeracer75's" carbs:
Another Honda Chopper head had come up to visit for a while when Spoom stopped over on his way home to WI and I had asked him to bring a #2 casting for a set I was working on. He shows up with essentially and ENTIRE rack and just handed them to me. As thing turned out I did not need the #2 right away so out of gratitude for his generosity I detailed the set he gave me and brought them back to him. We popped them on the bike which had been sitting cold for days and one kick was all it took. Well, we did have to switch out the float valve needels as the ones in it were not correct and refused to shut off. Once replace the carbs worked perfectly and looked good on the bike.
