Cleaning and amassing parts....
.

.

.
The first step was to dismantle as much as possible, degrease, polish, dip, flush, and clean everything that could still be used. Then replacing parts that were not acceptable for the finished project such as handlebars, cables, grips, clamps, throttle, and other assorted items. The fork boots had been cut off after the first picture was taken but fortunately I had an extra pair. I also had a slightly damaged pair of footpegs that were at least better than what was on it. My fingers were black for a week from polishing aluminum, chrome, and steel. I smelled like degreaser, CLR, and paint stripper the entire time.
